Brenda Castellanos, Partner at Antojitos Del Patron, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the food industry.
Ms. Castellanos became involved in her profession after being disappointed with the quality of food and beverages when she arrived in the United States. Inspired to offer better quality food and drink, she and her sister decided to spearhead their own business and serve hot coffee from their Guatemalan culture. As time passed by, they opened their own restaurant and found great success, so they went on to open a Mexican restaurant, Antojitos Del Patron. After the duo opened more restaurants, they were able to open their coffee shop and called it IX. They were able to import coffee from the cocoa of Guatemala and serve traditional Mayan dishes. Ms. Castellanos is backed by a degree in business administration, as well as coursework from the Culinary School of New York.
Ms. Castellanos’s career highlight has been being able to bring her culture of Guatemala to New York, along with showing the world who she and her sister are. She attributes her success to belief, perseverance, uniqueness and creating from the heart. As a testament to her success, Ms. Castellanos has been interviewed on various shows and on radio programs in Argentina, Honduras and Guatemala. The shows include, but are not limited to, Telemundo 47, Centro America TV and Azteca TV. Notably, she opened the first Mayan Guatemalan restaurant in New York. Looking ahead, Ms. Castellanos hopes to keep creating businesses that benefit her customers and community.
