John L. Bellah, Photojournalist at Hedon Publishing, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership.

Prior to becoming a photojournalist, Mr. Bellah explored a number of different careers. From 1969 until 1976, he served as the owner of Motormedic of Santa Monica, as well as loaning his emergency medical technician (EMT) skills to numerous Chevrolet, Chrysler-Plymouth, and Datsun dealerships. In 1988, Mr. Bellah became a police corporal and field training officer at the Long Beach Police Department and California State University. In this role, he excelled until 2008, going on to become a security supervisor at AlliedBarton Security Service, remaining until 2012. Though Mr. Bellah explored various career paths, his passion for photojournalism always prevailed. Since 1991, he has excelled as an automotive and law enforcement journalist and photographer.

Reflecting on his journey to professional success, Mr. Bellah considers the highlight of his career to be his experience in combining two careers to become one. Once he realized what he wanted to do, he was able to take his experience as an automotive mechanic technician and intertwine it with what he learned while working in law enforcement, which led to a his current role as a photojournalist. Mr. Bellah’s interest in journalism is a direct result of his father’s influence, as he was a well-known author.

From 2006 until 2019, Mr. Bellah earned first, second, and third place awards “for various technical articles concerning emergency vehicles and equipment published in law enforcement publications,” from the Public Safety Writer’s Association. An active member of his industry, he maintains affiliation with the Motor Press Guild, SAE International, and the Society of Automotive Historians, among other professional organizations. Looking toward the future, Mr. Bellah hopes to continue demonstrating success in his field. When he is not working, he enjoys spending time with his wife and their two children.
