Leonella Rita Navarrete, President at Friends of the New Mexico Fisher House, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in veteran advocacy.
With 50 years of professional experience to her credit, Ms. Navarrete has excelled as the president, the board chairman and a lead veteran advocate for the Friends of the New Mexico Fisher House since 2015. Likewise, she has found success as a leader, trainer and mentor on the national, state and local levels for the American Legion Auxiliary since 1970. She has been notably affiliated with the American Legion Auxiliary Foundation, the House of Friends, Otero-Garcia-Navarrete Unit 72 of the American Legion and the National Hispanic Cultural Center. Ms. Navarrete previously served as the past national president for the American Legion Auxiliary from 2009 to 2010 and an administrative officer for the United States Department of Agriculture from 2000 to 2002, for which she had formerly worked for more than 35 years.
Furthermore, Ms. Navarrete has refined her knowledge in personnel management through coursework at the University of Mexico Community College. As a testament to her exceptional accomplishments, she was presented with a Certificate of Recognition from the Obama’s in 2016 as well as a Certificate of Recognition from New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson. Attributing her success to her determination and a sense of fulfillment knowing that her parents would be proud of her, she was inspired to become involved with veteran advocacy organizations by her integrity, her desire to serve the troops and the opportunities provided to her by her hard-working and savvy mother and family. Incredibly proud of her co-championing of the New Mexico Fisher House, Ms. Navarrete hopes to continue flourishing in her present positions while cementing herself as a stellar role model for her great-grandchildren.
