Janet Griffith, Retired Coordinator of Student Access Services at Rose State College, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in counseling.
Building off her comfortability talking to others, Ms. Griffith earned a Master of Education in counseling psychology in 1975. Prior, she had acquired a Bachelor’s degree and consequently was hired as a counselor at a children’s home, where she quickly concluded that she desired to pursue counseling further. Later, in 2002, Ms. Griffith became the coordinator of student access services at Rose State College. In this role, she was in charge of directing the process of providing accommodations and access campus-wide to students with disabilities. Likewise, she provided support, counseling and referrals to those students in need. Excelling in her position for over one decade, Ms. Griffith retired in 2020.
As a testament to her remarkable success, Ms. Griffith earned the Excellence Teaching Award from the Professional and Administrative Staff Association in 2020. As an active member of her industry, she has maintained affiliation with the Oklahoma Counseling Association, OK Ahead and the National Ahead Association throughout her career. Reflecting on her multiple accomplishments, Ms. Griffiths attributes her success to her depth of care for others. Likewise, she has always listened to God’s direction, which has never steered her the wrong way. In the coming years, Ms. Griffith would love to explore photography, as she has always admired the field.
