To Mr. Hodge’s luck, one of his classmates worked for a CPA firm and taught him how to complete his tax returns and how to fill out forms to apply for financial aid. Shortly thereafter, Mr. Hodge received a Bachelor of Arts in accounting from the University of the Virgin Islands, along with a Master of Business Administration acquired from the institution in 1985. He cites achieving his Master’s degree as the greatest achievement of his life.

He went on to work for the IRS, gaining the exposure and experience that propelled him to excellence throughout his career. Mr. Hodge recalls his career highlight as serving as deputy director of his alma mater, the University of the Virgin Islands. Originally starting as interim director to see how he would perform in the role, he was appointed to the position after six months of impressive work and contribution to the school.

Outside of his primary roles, Mr. Hodge dedicates time to serve as the personal finance advisor to his local church and also maintains membership with the Rotary Club of the Virgin Islands. Notably, in 2017, he was the recipient of an Advanced Certificate of Public Work Management from the University of Georgia. He has found great purpose in helping clients with the burdens of financial preparation and he hopes to continue helping others for many years to come. With this sentiment, he envisions himself settling into retirement within the next five years. The advice Mr. Hodge can pass onto the next generation of financial professional is to be incredibly knowledgeable in your area of work, as there are various tax issues that clients may bring forward.
