J. Brian Stockmar, Councilman in the Town of Vail, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in economics.
At the outset, Mr. Stockmar followed his father’s footsteps into the legal profession. However, Mr. Stockmar became more interested in working on economic issues, particularly in Europe, and became a private consulting economist in 1996. He earned a Bachelor of Arts from Princeton University in 1973. He then received a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Denver in 1976. Upon completion of his degree, he was admitted to practice law in the state of Colorado. Reflecting on his illustrious career, Mr. Stockmar recalls a highlight of his career was the private consulting he did in relation to the Euro currency.
Mr. Stockmar commenced his career in 1976 as an associate with Davis, Graham & Stubbs, remaining until 1981. From 1981 to 1983, he was vice president of finance at Kennedy & Mitchell and spent the following year as an associate with Dechert, Price & Rhoads. Mr. Stockmar went on to serve as a partner with Cogswell & Wehrle from 1984 to 1986 and with Morrison & Foerster, in their Denver and Tokyo offices, until 1989. From 1996 to 2019, he was a consulting economist and a principle with JBS Systems, Inc. Mr. Stockmar had also worked for the Planning and Environmental Commission from 2016 until 2019. In 2019, he became a councilman for the Town of Vail, Colorado, in which he continues to excel in his role to this day. As a testament to his success, Mr. Stockmar was listed in the 48th edition of Who’s Who in America and the 27th edition of Who’s Who in Finance and Industry.
