From an early age, Ms. Polke envisioned herself working in the field of health care in order to contribute to making a difference in people’s lives. She began her career as a charge supervisor for Lutheran General Hospital from 1986 to 1989. In 2001, she spearheaded the Collaborative Healthcare Urgency Group, a leading consulting organization dedicated to training healthcare facilities to prepare for, respond to, recover from and provide restoration services in the event of emergencies, disasters and other urgent events. In her present position, she handles the on-boarding for new members, the finances of the organization, marketing and business management, among other responsibilities. Likewise, Ms. Polke has been active a subject matter expert for functional needs populations since 2001, as well as an account executive for Advocate Health Care since 1998 and the chief executive officer and president of the Sherpa Consulting Group since 2010.
To remain aware of her industry, Ms. Polke maintains her affiliation with the National Association of Professional Women, LeadingAge and the Illinois HomeCare & Hospice Council. She has also served as a board member of the Salvation Army Golden Diners, as well as a past volunteer of Elgion Senior Provider Group, the American Red Cross and Medical Reserve Corporation. Notably, she was the recipient of the Hero of the Year Award for Disaster Relief from a chapter of the American Red Cross in 2009. Additionally, she was honored as a VIP by the National Association of Profession Women, an MVP by Advocate Health Care and with a Presidential Recognition from the Medical Reserve Corps of Illinois. She attributes her vast success to her drive and confidence to spearhead her businesses. She obtained an Associate of Science in respiratory care from Triton Community College and a certificate in non-profit management from Harper College. Currently, Ms. Pole is in pursuit of a Bachelor of Science in health management from Ohio Christian University.
