Neil A. Martin, Chief Financial Officer of National Public Media (an NPR Co.), has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in business and financial management.

Performing well in accounting classed throughout college, Mr. Martin felt strongly that finance was a suitable method by which to enter the business sector. Receiving a Bachelor of Science in accounting from Long Island University in 1990, he first served as a senior accountant for Margolin, Winer & Evens LLP for one year before serving in the same capacity for Ernest & Young from 1991 to 1993. For the following three years, he was a senior corporate auditor for Time Warmer and also served as the director of finance for Polygram Records from 1996 to 1998 and a controller for Wind-Up Records from 1998 to 1999. Joining National Public Media in 1999 as a controller, he was promoted to vice president of finance in 2004 and chief financial officer in 2014, where he remains today.

During his tenure with National Public Media, Mr. Martin managed the growth of the business from $10 million to $130 million. Contributing civically to his community, he has also served on several boards, including the fundraising board of the Studio Museum of Harlem and the apartment board of The Hamilton Co-Op. Attributing his success to hard work, determination and ability to continually learn, he intends to continue growing his business in five years’ time, noting that he would have the opportunity to learn and contribute extensively. In his spare time, Mr. Martin enjoys traveling with his family. Impressively, he has visited more than 50 countries thus far.
