Lillia E. King, BA, MT, (AAB), CP, Histologist at Catholic Chancery-Keys & Sword, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in histology.
Prior to embarking on her illustrious career, Ms. King attended the College of St. Elizabeth and earned a Bachelor of Arts in biology in 1970. She went on to complete graduate coursework in hospital administration at the California College of Science in 1992. Early in her career, she worked at Knud-Hansen Memorial Hospital as a tissue technologist, further progressing to a territorial histologist a few years later. Soon thereafter, she became an instructor of anatomy at the University of Virgin Islands, St. Thomas before joining the Schneider Regional Medical Center in St. Thomas as the supervisor and manager of the histopathology department. More recently, Ms. King excelled as the co-instructor of anatomy and physiological LPM program at the aforementioned institution until 2010.
In addition to her primary endeavors, Ms. King excelled as a guest lecturer for the Old Municipal Hospital in St. Thomas, as well as a student clinical laboratory aide for the Knud-Hanson Memorial Hospital between 1967 and 1970. For her accomplishments in the field, Ms. King has been the recipient of numerous awards including the Women’s International Leadership Association Award, the Commendation Service Award from the Schneider Regional Medical Center and a Certificate of Merit from the American Association of Bioanalysts, among others. Outside of her profession, Ms. King enjoys reading, gardening, listening to music and cooking in her spare time.
