Mr. Balidemaj’s family has been involved in the restaurant business for more than 25 years, which led him to follow the same path in his own professional career. With many memories and a culmination of great experience, he grew a deep love for the industry during those two decades. Mr. Balidemaj joined the staff of Costello Restaurant in Danbury, Connecticut in 2007. Originally working as a busboy, he continued to show his prowess and was promoted to manager in 2010. For the past 10 years, he has excelled in his managerial role, which consists of management, marketing and even cooking. Additionally, he is currently in pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in business.
Finding great success in his role, Mr. Balidemaj has led Costello Restaurant to be named a Top Restaurant in Danbury, as well as the recipient of a Wine Spectator Award. Along with these honorable accolades, he most enjoys the interactions he has with patrons on a day-to-day basis. Mr. Balidemaj attributes his vast success to his father, Deme, who he cites has been the biggest supporter in his career, along with his uncles Sammy and Ray, who contributed to teaching him how to run a restaurant. His uncles fostered a “watch and learn” teaching method, which helped him increase his skills and capabilities in restaurants. In five years’ time, Mr. Balidemaj envisions himself opening additional locations of Costello Restaurant and a nightclub. The advice he can offer to aspiring restaurateurs is to understand that the business is a lifelong marriage, as you must have a passion for serving the public.
