Jeffery S. Sills, Senior Vice President of Business and Field Development at Woodbury Financial, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in financial services.
Having accrued more than 30 years of professional experience in the financial world, Mr. Sills has excelled with Woodbury Financial Services in Wilmington, Delaware since 2018. Originally serving as regional vice president for two years, he was promoted to senior vice president of business and field development since 2020, in which he manages the recruiting of new advisors and mergers and acquisitions for businesses, as well as oversees 1,600 field advisors and 16 regional vice presidents. To remain abreast of his industry, Mr. Sills holds membership with the Financial Planning Association and sits on the board for Teach for America Delaware.
Prior to his current role, Mr. Sills served as senior vice president and head of national advice and planning for acquisition integration for Capital One from 2014 to 2018. Similarly, he worked for USAA as an executive director of member advice and resource group for organizational leadership from 2011 to 2014 and as director of wealth management for organizational transformation and competitive edge from 2009 to 2011. Mr. Sills had also been senior vice president of business development, change management and new product development for U.S. Fiduciary from 2007 to 2009 and senior vice president of wealth management for Smith Barney from 1993 to 2007. Earlier, between 1987 and 1993, he also worked for Shearson Lehman and EF Hutton.
Notably, Mr. Sills received a Bachelor of Science in business and general management from the University of the Incarnate Word in 2018. A chartered financial consultant by the American College and a certified financial planner by Rice University, he also holds a certification in education for ministry from the University of the South. He is currently working toward a Master of Business Administration in strategy and leadership from the University of Delaware School of Business and Economics, which he plans to attain in 2021. Looking toward the future, Mr. Sills aims to teach at a college or university or even leadership at the professional level. In his spare time, he enjoys playing tennis and riding motorcycles.
