Lee Edwin Martin, Principal Consultant at Rimkus Consulting Group, Inc., has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in architecture.
Having been involved in the construction industry since his high school years, Mr. Martin went on to receive a Bachelor of Architecture from Ohio State University in 1975. A licensed architect in the states of Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Indiana, Kentucky, West Virginia, Tennessee, Florida and New Mexico, he went on to achieve a Master of Public Administration from Florida Atlantic University in 2005. Today, Mr. Martin holds more than 30 years of architectural design and construction administration experience on large, complex and mega-project types. Since 2020, he has excelled as the principal consultant for Rimkus Consulting Group, Inc. in Ohio.
Throughout his illustrious career, Mr. Martin has been involved in the planning, design and construction of mixed-use high-rise buildings, as well as medical, correctional, educational and institutional projects. Likewise, he has worked on historic buildings and has placed a commercial property on the National Registry of Historic Places. He recalls a specific highlight has been being the number one ranked premises liability expert of the Indiana Association for Justice. Mr. Martin attributes his success to hard work and perseverance, as he believes that there are people smarter than him in his field, but he has made it his mission to do his best work and be an outstanding employee.
Prior to his current role, Mr. Martin was a forensic expert for Robson Forensic Inc. from 2009 to 2020 and director of Florida operations for Gobbell Hays Partners Inc. from 2005 to 2009. As a forensic architect, he has provided professional services in cases involving building envelope failure and analysis, architectural standard of care and copyright protection, construction defects, compliance with codes standards and regulations and the spread of fire due to deficient design or construction practices. Additionally, Mr. Martin is a certified playground safety inspector and certified XL tribometrist. He also holds an OSHA 10-Hour and 30-Hour Construction Safety Certification.
Presently, Mr. Martin holds membership with the American Institute of Architects, American Society for Testing and Materials International, National Recreation and Parks Association and National Fire Protection Association. He is also involved with the Construction Specifications Institute, Council on Tall Buildings, National Council of Architectural Registration Board and Charity Newsies. In his spare time, he enjoys architectural photography, scuba diving and flying small planes, as he is an FAA licensed pilot. Notably, Mr. Martin served in the U.S. Air Force from 1968 to 1972.
