Mr. Hills initially discovered his aptitude for working with electronics in junior high school, leading him to earn a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the California State Polytechnic University in 1974. He is currently renowned as a sales professional having generated profitable revenues in startups or medium and large semiconductor companies while developing relationships with major tech companies such as Intel, Samsung, Apple and IBM. Since 2016, he has focused his efforts as the worldwide vice president of sales and marketing for Seamless Microsystems Inc. In this role, Mr. Hills identifies prospects in the target markets and builds relationships with the potential clients.
Prior to his present position, Mr. Hills served Cortus as the vice president of sales in 2013 and 2014, as well as Integrated Device Technology as the director of sales and marketing from 2010 to 2013 and as worldwide vice president from 2008 to 2010. Similarly, he was active as the vice president of sales for Semicoa in 2007 and 2008, the director of sales of the Asia Pacific region for Dialog Semiconductor PLC from 2005 to 2007 and the vice president of worldwide sales for IC Media Corp. from 2003 to 2005. Between 1994 and 2003, Mr. Hills had also excelled as the director of North America sales for Arc International, the vice president of worldwide sales for Silicon Motion Technology Corp., the vice president of sales for Americas Alliance Semiconductor and the director of strategic account for IBM at Cirrus Logic.
To remain aware of developments in his industry, Mr. Hills maintains his affiliation with the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. As the recipient of a Company Sales Award, he attributes his success to the various mentors and colleagues throughout his career that have been integral to his growth, including Bill Kaufmann. Looking toward the future, he would like to become a board member for a large electronics company and share his real-world experiences. In addition, he envisions himself contributing to a startup company as a mentor as a way to bring a different perspective from his eclectic background. In his spare time, Mr. Hills enjoys golfing, traveling and investing.
