Karen Elden Rubin, Real Estate Developer and Owner at Karen Rubin, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in real estate development.
As a single mother of two living in New York City, Ms. Rubin aspired for more space and light in her living spaces. Upon renovating her apartment for her family, she began building townhouses, which boded well with her love for history. She found a groove in real estate development and has flourished in her chosen field for the past 30 years. Since 1990, she has served as a real estate developer and the owner of her firm, Karen Rubin, in which she specializes in buying undervalued properties and renovating them into state-of-the-art homes. Ms. Rubin currently holds membership with the National Trust for Historic Preservation.
Having worked on projects in New York City and upstate New York, Ms. Rubin attributes her career success to never giving up. She cites that as difficult and time-consuming as real estate can be, the field is incredibly fulfilling and a wonderful profession. With this sentiment, she believes that if you have a passion for something, it can propel you to achieve beyond what you thought was possible. In the coming years, she plans to continue building and remodeling homes but at her own pace, as well as travel and remodeling outside of the United States. Prior to her embarking upon her career in real estate, she earned a Bachelor of Science in journalism from the Syracuse University Newhouse School of Public Communications in 1971. Ms. Rubin subsequently worked in political journalism from 1971 to 1975, having also been active as the former assistant press secretary to Senator George McGovern.
