Sammie Rogers Jr., Chief Executive Officer, President and Owner at Higher Learning Institutions LLC, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the cannabis industry.

Backed by an Associate of Arts in business administration and management from West Los Angeles College from 2009, Mr. Rogers currently excels as the chief executive officer, president and owner of Higher Learning Institutions LLC. Since 2019, he has led the first black-owned cannabis vocational and technical school to success in providing comprehensive, personalized instruction to prepare individuals to work within the cannabis industry. Mr. Rogers’s day-to-day responsibilities include implementing new research into curriculum, interacting with students, contacting different dispensaries and cultivating places to help students receive jobs. He also teaches plant biology to students and allows them to spearhead their own laboratory efforts. Likewise, Mr. Rogers recently established a charitable organization called Community Leadership Coalition, which teaches the kids how to farm, grow their own food and build their community gardens.

From watching the War on Drugs affect so many citizens in his hometown of Pontiac, Michigan, Mr. Rogers has made it his mission to better his community through the education of legal cannabis. Having accrued more than 10 years in his industry, he has obtained various accolades for his work, including proclamations from Mayor B. Waterman, State Representative Brenda Carter and County Commissioner Angela Powell in 2020. He attributes his success to determination, sheer will and not allowing anyone to tell him what he cannot achieve. He also credits his father, a former professional football player, for keeping him grounded. In the near future, Mr. Rogers hopes to have Higher Learning Institutions LLC featured in Forbes as one of the best companies in the world, as well as eventually gaining the opportunity to enjoy his fruits of labor.
