Rev. Dr. Tra Xiong, Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director at Hmong Baptist National Association, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in religion.
Deeply connected to his family heritage and faith, Dr. Xiong desired to pursue a religious path in his own right. Upon his arrival to the United States, he visited a church for the first time and felt a shift in his life. He was enlightened by the church’s songs about heaven and later decided to become baptized into the Christian religion. Connecting his faith into his professional career, he helped pastors and leaders to established Hmong Baptist National Association in 1990. Serving as a pastor for nearly 35 years, Dr. Xiong has also excelled as the chief executive officer and executive director for the past four years.
In addition to his primary role, Dr. Xiong has been active with a television and radio ministry that he conducts once a week for 27 years. Having been honored with numerous Appreciation Awards for his efforts, he cites his most notable achievement as his contributions to helping educate the poor and less fortunate, including children. Reflecting on his vast accomplishments, he credits his success to the mentors who motivated and inspired him, including Rev. Gregg Sumii, Dr. Gray and Dr. William. In the coming years, he plans to continue serving people for the Lord and leading a humble life. Notably, Dr. Xiong obtained a Doctor of Ministry in biblical studies from the Southern Baptist Seminary for Biblical Studies in Jacksonville, Florida in 2000.
