William “Kwasi” Flax, Chief Executive Officer at Africap, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in activism.
For as long as he can remember, Mr. Flax has dedicated himself to helping those living in third-world countries. In 1985, he earned a Bachelor of Science in sociology from the University of Liberia, going on to enroll at Antioch University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to further his education. In 1988, he earned a Master’s degree in counselor education. He began his career as a counselor in student services at Lincoln University in 1990, but he quickly dedicated himself fully to Africap. That same year, he became the chief executive officer for the company, which is the role he continues to hold today.
Reflecting on his success, Mr. Flax credits his background, as the way he grew up greatly shaped who he is today. Likewise, he was influenced by his bond with Jessie Jackson, which inspired him to continue his work in helping communities. The highlight of his career has been his political activism, for which he received a portrait in thanks from President Barack Obama. He additionally cherished his many experiences in making the lives of many people better. Looking toward the future, Mr. Flax hopes to continue his work as a role model. He wants to provide everyone with whom he works resources to improve their lives. Further, Mr. Flax hopes to work with president-elect Joe Biden in the future, as well as become an ambassador for Liberia.
