John A. Ricciutti

Title: Documentary Filmmaker
Location: Villanova, Pennsylvania, United States

John A. Ricciutti, Documentary Filmmaker, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in filmmaking.

Having been told that he was born to work behind the camera, Mr. Ricciutti is renowned for his eclectic and numerous works as a documentarian. Having produced and documented stories for nearly 10 years, he has been the recipient of an Emmy Award and multiple Telly Awards. Notably, he has interviewed more than 25 Vietnam veterans for the Library of Congress and has been active as a television producer and board member with Radnor Studio 21. His first experience with filmmaking happened in his hometown at the request of a local librarian, who suggested that the town would benefit from a weekly television show on transportation. On the contrary, Mr. Ricciutti disagreed and decided to turn the program into a series of interviews with local officials, which was met with great acclaim.

Backed by a Bachelor of Business Administration from Villanova University, Mr. Ricciutti worked as a union bus driver before retiring as the director of transportation for the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) after 40 years of service. Presented with a 2013 SEPTA in Motion Award for his years of dedication, he cites his career trajectory with SEPTA as a highlight of his professional endeavors. He currently maintains his affiliation with the Veteran’s Organization and the Philadelphia Writer’s Club. Reflecting on the past several decades, he attributes his  success to his self-discipline, strong work ethic, love for the arts and luck. His mother told him that frustration would build his character and that the road to success is not a straight line, which is now advice that he offers to the younger generation. In the coming years, Mr. Ricciutti hopes to turn one of his projects into a feature film, believing that everybody has a story and he will always be interested in listening and telling those stories.
