Backed by one decade of experience as a realtor, builder and general contractor of million-dollar log homes, Ms. Dos’e has flourished in her current role as a home inspector. Desiring to take on a new avenue of the industry, she stumbled upon the home inspection profession, which suited her lengthy background in home improvement. In 1989, Ms. Dos’e spearheaded Echo Home Inspection Inc. in Elgin, Illinois. Serving the Chicago land area for 31 years, the company sends out a two-person team to conduct home inspections using a detailed rating system during analysis. The client then receives a computerized inspection report within 24 hours of the inspection.
Finding great success through her entrepreneurial endeavor, Ms. Dos’e was named Affiliate of the Year by the North Shore-Barrington Association of Realtors. Attributing her success to her illustrious background and love for real estate, she hopes to continue working in her field for many years to come. The advice that Ms. Dos’e can offer the next generation of aspiring home inspectors, especially women, is to be extremely knowledgeable, go to school and get experience, as it continues to be a male-dominated industry. In addition, she adds that acquiring a mentor can be useful and to always be confident, quick and reliable.
