Anna Svetchnikov, Executive Director at Longwood Care, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in mental health counseling.
Desiring to pursue a career in the medical field, Ms. Svetchnikov commenced her undergraduate years as a biochemistry major but quickly found her niche in psychology. Matriculating at the University of Massachusetts, Boston, she earned a Bachelor of Science in psychology in 2010 and a Master’s degree in marriage and family therapy in 2014. Today, Ms. Svetchnikov is a licensed marriage and family specialist and licensed social worker, as well as certified in dialectical behavior therapy. Since 2016, she has excelled as the executive director of Longwood Care in Boston, a mental health non-profit organization. Specializing in parent-focused behavioral health services to build strong families, she is the leader of the Positive Parenting Initiative, as well as the Therapeutic Youth Mentoring Project.
Prior to her current endeavor, Ms. Svetchnikov was an in-home therapy clinician and supervisor with the Home for Little Wanderers from 2013 to 2016. Between 2010 and 2012, she had also worked as a social worker and supervisor for Otrada, a health analyst for the Children’s Hospital of Boston and a residential counselor with the Cambridge Eating Disorder Center. In addition, Ms. Svetchnikov is the author of 25 books including “Awesome Team vs CoronaVera,” a therapeutic book for children published in 2020. Presently, she maintains affiliation with the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapists and the New England Association for Family and Systemic Therapies.
Finding great success in her career, Ms. Svetchnikov was the recipient of a President’s Lifetime Achievement Award and five President’s Achievements Awards for Community Service from the Barack Obama Administration. Notably, in 2017, she was granted a State Senate Official Citation from Senator Joesph Boncore. Additionally, in 2020, Ms. Svetchnikov was named Business Women of the Year by the Lynn Chamber of Commerce and named to the Boston Business Journal’s 40 Under 40. For her written works, she was the recipient of a Bronze Medal and Stevi Award, as well as a Bronze Medal for Female Executive of the Year in 2020. Ms. Svetchnikov attributes her career success to constantly setting and achieving new goals. Looking ahead, she plans to expand her practice’s locations and add in-home services and more partners.
