Backed by more than 35 years of professional expertise, Ms. Daniel is a Peabody Award-winning broadcast journalist with extensive print, digital and editing skills. Since 2019, she has flourished as the founder and chief executive officer of Legal Video Concepts, which creates sentencing mitigation videos. As a strategy that defense attorneys use to get reduced sentences for their clients, the submission of a sentencing mitigation video is one of the most effective ways to show the Judge the positive aspects of a criminal defendant’s life story. Alongside her primary role, Ms. Daniel has also been a writer for the Greenville Business Magazine since 2003 and a certified family court mediator since 1998.
Ms. Daniel received a Bachelor of Arts in mass communications and political science from the University of Miami and a Master of Arts in psychology from Pepperdine University in 1982. She went on to conduct postgraduate studies in journalism at the University of California, Los Angeles. Notably, Ms. Daniel has covered some of the most high profile criminal trials in the United States. In covering legal and medical affairs, she has worked abroad in countries such as Grenada, Haiti and Germany.
In the earlier years of her career, Ms. Daniel was a reporter and anchor for WYFF-TV4, an NBC affiliate in Greenville, South Carolina, in 1983 and 1985. From there, she was a legal journalist and anchor for NBC and CBS News affiliates and Buena Vista Television, as well as a national correspondent for Inside Edition between 1982 and 2007. She has also covered local television news in Miami, Los Angeles and New York. In addition, Ms. Daniel was the founder and chief executive officer of KatWalk Productions from 2011 to 2019.
Reflecting on her illustrious career, Ms. Daniel is most proud of her abilities to tell people stories in a dimensional way and while helping them shape their lives. With this sentiment, she in June 2020 she launched her podcast Prime Time Crime on Apple Music, Spotify and Stitcher. Notably, Ms. Daniel has been the recipient of numerous accolades, including the American Legal Media Trailblazer Award in 2019 and the Peabody Award in 1992. Additionally, she was granted a Matrix Feature Writing Award and a Matrix Award for Women in Compensation in 2003. Ms. Daniel attributes her success to a passion for telling stories and helping people.
