Jane Garson Reed, CPA (Ret.), President of ThunderEcho Drum Company, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in entrepreneurship.
An entrepreneur of many feats, Ms. Reed has excelled as the president of ThunderEcho Drum Company since 2001. Her son, Kevin, was recovering from a work-related, traumatic brain injury when he created the now patented “Trash Kat Drum,” which they now sell to drummers nationwide. The kit is a favorite among artists such as Adrian Young (No Doubt), Wil Calhoun (Living Colour), Roger Carter (Rick Springfield’s drummer), Carmine Appice, Britain’s Dame Evelyn Gennie, Hannah Ford (Prince’s last drummer), John Mahon (Elton John’s percussionist), and a myriad of others. Furthermore, the kit has been a staple for Toby Keith, Bon Jovi, Keith Urban, as well as featured on various movie soundtracks, in Cleveland’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and even on “China’s Got Talent.” In addition, Ms. Reed has been the president of Athena Music Inc. since 2002 and the vice president of 318 Ventures LLC, a property management company, since 2007. Prior to her current roles, she was an assistant professor at Baldwin-Wallace College and a lecturer of management accounting at the University of Akron between 1987 and 1994. A certified public account, Ms. Reed worked for various employers within finance and accounting, including, Cuyahoga Community College, White Motor Corp. and Deloitte, Haskins & Sells in the 1970s and 1980s. She was an independent contractor for the State of Washington
Notably, Ms. Reed was the recipient of the Bridge Builder Award from the Society for Handicapped Citizens of Medina County in 2013. She was also granted the 2014 Northern Ohio Amateur Radio Society Ham of the Year Award and the 1996 Never Give Up Award. Ms. Reed received a Bachelor of Business Administration, magna cum laude, from Baldwin Wallace College in 1977 and an Executive Master of Business Administration in management at Case Western Reserve University in 1983. She went on to complete doctoral coursework at Cleveland State University in the early 1990s. She maintained affiliations with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Ohio Society CPAs, Institute of Management Accountants, American Society of Women Accountants, Medina County Writers Group and Delta Mu Delta and is President of the Medina County Amateur Radio Club since 2018. She is registered with the State of Ohio as a retired CPA. To attest to her legacy, Ms. Reed is also listed in editions of Who’s Who in Finance and Business, Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in the Midwest, Who’s Who in the World, Who’s Who of American Women and Who’s Who of Emerging Leaders in America.
