After obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in history from Rice University in 1967, Mr. Hollings joined the United States Navy, where he served as a lieutenant, navigator and department head aboard the USS Farragut (DLG-6) and a gunnery officer in Vietnam aboard the USS Boston (CAG-1) until 1971. After departing from the military, he received a Master of Science in management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1972, where he later served as a teaching assistant and research assistant. Throughout the course of his varied career, Mr. Hollings has specialized in management and finance with such institutions as the Citizens and Southern National Bank of South Carolina, TMI Systems Corporation, Booz Allen & Hamilton Inc., Paine Webber Inc., Rich Inc. and International Aquatech LLC, among other companies. Recently serving as manager of the Institute for Professionals in Taxation from 1998 to 2013, he has excelled as manager of Cobblestone Associates LLC and an independent investor since 2010.

Equally talented in writing, Mr. Hollings self-published a book titled “Cruising Croatia” in 2009. He has also authored or co-authored several other texts within his field, such as “Combined Clinical and Financial Database for Health Services Research” in 1993, “Artificial Intelligence on the Trading Floor” in 1987 and “The Effect of Debt Indexation on the Value of the Firm” in 1974. He is a former member of the American Association for Artificial Intelligence and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. While his career has been filled with highlights, he is especially proud of doing work in Panama during his career.
