Emily Frye, Director at MITRE Corporation, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in cybersecurity.
Upon receiving a Bachelor of Arts in history and economics from the College of William & Mary, Ms. Frye attained a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the George Mason University School of Law in 1996. Intrigued by a class on the law of electronic commerce, she has since gone on to spearhead an illustrious career in national and cybersecurity, as well as critical infrastructure. Presently, Ms. Frye excels as the director of the MITRE Corporation, a role she took on in 2018. She previously served the company as the director of national protection and resilience, a portfolio manager of cybersecurity and the principal engineer between 2011 and 2018. In a career suffused with highlights, she is most proud to have managed the company’s election integrity program, which became prolific throughout the country, along with working across all public and private sectors for the good of the nation.
At the start of her career, Ms. Frye worked in conferences and legal service with Cohasset Associates from 1997 to 1999. She went on to serve as the vice president and general counsel of iWitness from 1998 to 2001 and as the director of critical infrastructure research at George Mason University between 2002 and 2005. From 2004 until 2011, she worked for the Touchstone Consulting Group as a consultant, principal and CIP practice lead. A senior fellow of the McCrary Institute, Ms. Frye was a member and subcommittee chair of the American Bar Association’s information security committee. She attributes her success to good fortune and an abundance of hard work, crediting her father as her greatest mentor, along with Mathea Falco, Michael Baum and Stewart Baker as impeccable influences. In five years’ time, she envisions herself as a vice president in a public interest corporation dedicated to cybersecurity.
