Bearing a particular specialization in counseling, strategic planning and the execution of programs, she previously distinguished herself in various positions of high leadership, such as the corporate vice president of GE Capital Services, the senior vice president of corporate communications at Avis Group Holdings, the corporate vice president of the GTE Corporation, the executive vice president of Hill and Knowlton Inc. and the public vice president of public affairs at American Waterways Operators Inc., among many others. Initially inspired to enter her profession out of a love for politics, especially during a time when women were not easily accepted in the realm of business, Ms. Yoder first served as a press secretary in the U.S. House of Representatives in 1965.

Known for her contributions as a civic-minded citizen, Ms. Yoder maintained involvement with a number of public organizations, including Duquesne University, Shadyside Hospital and the Pressley Ridge School in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Likewise, she has sat on the boards of directors for the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, the Civic Light Opera and the Junior League of the City of New York. Well regarded for her efforts in bringing attention to the importance of women in the workforce, Ms. Yoder has received a number of accolades. Among them, she earned recognition as an Outstanding Woman in Business and Industry in 1988, and earned a McAnulty Service Award and an Anthony L. Bucci Award for Excellence in Communications Ethics from Duquesne University in 2006 and 2018, respectively.
