Ret. Chief John C. Worden, Board Chairperson at Jackson County Disaster Assistance Response Team, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the field of public service.
Mr. Worden, a former fire department chief and public official, possesses more than six decades of professional experience in service on behalf of his local community. Having long dedicated his career path to Summit Township in Jackson, Michigan, he presently serves as the board chairperson of the Jackson County Disaster Assistance Response Team and has likewise earned distinction for his work as a zoning administrator since 2008. For the vast majority of his career, Mr. Worden excelled as the chief of the township’s fire department service for two tenures, from 1973 until 1997, and from 2009 to 2012. Between these appointments, he worked in the same capacity for the Leoni Township from 2006 until 2007.
Known for his contributions as a civic-minded citizen, Mr. Worden is presently active as the chairperson of the Jackson Community Ambulance service and as a board member of Emergent Health Partners, a nonprofit organization that oversees emergency response services throughout the immediate area. He is also a past chairperson and former secretary-treasurer of the Huron Valley Ambulance and Subsidiaries. As a commitment to his field, Mr. Worden has been a member of several important organizations relevant to his field, including the American Red Cross, the Jackson County Fire Chiefs Association, the Michigan and Western Michigan Association of Fire Chiefs and the Michigan Fire Service Instructors Association, among others.
In a career suffused with highlights, Mr. Worden is most proud to have done his best not only on behalf of the fire and rescue services he has been associated with but the citizens of his township and county at large. Moreover, he has had a public building named in his honor. To commemorate his accomplishments, Mr. Worden has received numerous awards for services to the fire department.
