Cynthia Karen Billette, President at Columbia Crossroads Tours, Inc., has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in tourism.
Ms. Billette and her family were moved to Bombay, India by the government. While there, she began learning about their culture, then she began seeing tourists come in and thought she would like the profession. Upon moving back to the United States, she went to the San Francisco School on training tourism. Previously, she earned an Associate of Arts in fashion design from Stephens College in 1959. She then received a Bachelor of Science in international history from Eastern Oregon State University. Upon completion of school, she became a certified tour professional with a classification in tourism.
Ms. Billette’s is proud of her understanding of culture and other people. It has become very important to her. She tries to join groups that are diversified in order to educate on that level. Meeting people and learning of different cultures is the most rewarding part of her profession. She has made many friends while in her profession, to the point that most of her friends live abroad. Ms. Billette has been the president of Columbia Crossroads Tours, Inc. since 1995. She has also been the co-founder of Spotlight Northwest since 2015. Previously she was the tour manager for various first-class companies. Ms. Billette has covered 100 foreign countries as well as all 50 states in the U.S. as a tour guide. As a testament to her success, Ms. Billette has been inducted as a member of the National Tourists Association, American Bus Association and Oregon Tourism.
