Nicole M. Leckenby, a Council Member of the Pleasant Hills Council, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in fields of local governance, writing and education.
Having accrued more than two decades of inimitable expertise in her respective fields, Ms. Leckenby has garnered a laudable reputation in her role as a council member on behalf of Pleasant Hills, a borough of Pittsburgh. Elected to her position in 2020, she has resolved to enhance pedestrian safety, foster better communication between the local government and its constituents, and maintain a balanced budget. Long dedicated to civic advocacy, Ms. Leckenby previously served as a volunteer with her local Parent Teacher Association and as a member of the Pleasant Hills Library board.
Outside of her work in the public sphere, Ms. Leckenby has distinguished herself as an author of children’s books, having written “It’s Halloween: with proceeds going to Young Adult Survivors United and COVID with proceeds going to Safe Place, and “Summer Vacation,” the latter of which had the proceeds donated to Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, a pediatric cancer research organization. Likewise, Ms. Leckenby penned “My Crazy Life,” a memoir reflecting upon her personal journey. She has also served as the co-founder and editor of the Holiday Café, an online quarterly publication, and an administrator of epidemiology at the Graduate School of Public Health at the University of Pittsburgh.
Ms. Leckenby first sought a formal education at the University of Pittsburgh, from which she earned a Bachelor of Arts in communications and media studies. Eminently qualified in her field, she was also certified as an administrative professional. In accounting for her standout success, she credits her propensity for diligence and hard work. Looking toward the future, Ms. Leckenby hopes to continue working on behalf of her community and her pursuits in creative writing.
