Clay Norris, executive director of the Iowa Rock’N Roll Music Association, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in marketing and nonprofit administration.
Mr. Norris is an entrepreneur and consultant celebrating almost 40 years of expertise in product management and brand development. He started his career in advertising, working with agencies across Oklahoma and Alabama, and moved into the sports and outdoor equipment industry, spending close to two decades with Pure Fishing, the world’s largest manufacturer of fishing tackle and related supplies. Mr. Norris was named senior global brand and product manager for the company’s Berkley Fishing Line division in 2007, and drove product development in European and Asian markets while maintaining the brand’s number one market position in the United States for the next ten years. He left Pure Fishing in 2017 to become director of national sales and marketing for Cortland Line Company, a fly line manufacturer, and to launch GCN Marketing and Consulting.
Since 2020, Mr. Norris has been a marketing lead and board member at Fluidology LLC, a startup specializing in predictive equipment fluid operating analysis. His newest role is serving as executive director of the Iowa Rock ‘N Roll Music Association, a museum and nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting and preserving the culture, legacy, and history of rock music in Iowa. Mr. Norris holds a Bachelor of Arts with honors in advertising, public relations, and marketing from the University of Tulsa, and looks forward to becoming an adjunct professor for the Iowa Lakes Community College Continuing Education program in the near future. When not focused on his work, Mr. Norris is active in community outreach and missionary projects with the Kiwanis Club, United Christians International, and Global Friends. Mr. Norris has been proudly married to his wife Kathy since 1985.
