Ms. Luu became involved in her profession because her husband passed away and left her with three kids and no life insurance. She decided to go into the financial industry to teach women about money and finance. There was a brand new product that was emerging in the industry and she began to use her platform to educate others. She realized women were not being given a chance to make money and decided to hire women. She has women today that are making about two million a year with her. She earned a Master’s Certificate in project management from The George Washington University in 1996.
Ms. Luu’s most notable achievement was helping to uplift men and women and teaching people about their finances. Another highlight is creating an agency and being able to give people employment. Since 2007, she has been the executive field chairman for First Financial Security. She has also been a financial advisor for Shirley Luu Finance since 2009 and the founder and chief executive officer of Shirley Luu and Associates, LLC since 2010. As a testament to her success, Ms. Luu has received myriad awards, including but not limited to being named Business Woman of the Year by COPA Magazine in 2020, named Woman of the Year by COPA Magazine in 2020, received the Northern Virginia Leadership Award in 2019, Bea Malone Small Business Award in 2019 and an MVP Award in 2015, 2017 and 2018.
