Irene S. Baldwin, Hotel Executive and Real Estate Developer, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in entrepreneurship and business management.

Ms. Baldwin celebrates more than six decades as a real estate executive, private investor, and animal welfare advocate. She began her journey in 1959 as a Wichita, Kansas-based dress designer while studying at Friends University. After graduating in 1961 with a Bachelor of Science degree, she spent two years as a social worker for Sedgwick County, Kansas. Ms. Baldwin stepped down from social work in 1965 to pursue business investment as a motel owner, setting the stage for further ventures in later years. Since 1971, Ms. Baldwin has been an independent financial advisor and commercial real estate investor, in addition to serving as the corporate secretary and treasurer of Blue Bottom, LLC. For more than 25 years, she has focused on real estate and hotel development, with an emphasis on agricultural land and angel investor funding of commercial ventures.

In addition to Ms. Baldwin’s long history of successful financial and business ventures, she has dedicated much of her life to charitable outreach. Beginning in 1965, she has worked to place homeless and foster animals in permanent homes throughout Nebraska, and she helped develop the first canine artificial leg in 1985, inspired by her own three-legged rescue Labrador Retriever. Ms. Baldwin is a major donor to the Johns Hopkins Wilmer Eye Institute, among other causes, and is the founder of the Wind Dancer Animal Sanctuary, a rehabilitative rescue for farm and companion animals. She is the author of “My Pal Chopper,” 2002, and has contributed articles, stories, and commentary to magazines and journals throughout her career. In her personal time, Ms. Baldwin enjoys drawing, sewing and other fiber arts, and spending time outdoors hiking and horseback riding.
