Attending California State University, East Bay in 1969, Mr. Rappaport has been the chief executive officer of Rappaport Energy Consulting LLC since 2004. Previously, he was the managing partner and founder of Biomass One from 1989 to 1997. In addition to these posts, he has dedicated his time to the Clackamas Service Center, the Clackamas County Democrats, and the Renewable Energy Scholarship Foundation. Mr. Rappaport also holds a patent for a geothermal-solar hybrid power generating system.
Born August 16, 1945, in Newark, New Jersey, Mr. Rappaport is the proud father of two sons and grandfather of two grandchildren. Initially becoming interested in energy as a child, when his father took him to visit a nuclear facility, he has been an invited speaker, and is an author of a forthcoming book, titled “On the Verge of Tomorrow.” Mr. Rappaport has also been a former member of the New York Society of Sciences and has been a member of the Al Gore Climate Reality Leadership Corps. He attributes his success to his persistence and looks forward to the continued success of his career and his new book.
