He has been awarded 14 commendations from the Atlantic City Police Department from 1989 to 2000, and additionally earned a community service recognition from the City of Atlantic City in 2019. Mr. Rassmann has maintained membership with the Haddonfield Rotary Club and the Atlantic City Chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. Born on March 11, 1968, in Atlantic City, Mr. Rassmann was greatly influenced by his parents. His mother is the first presiding elder in the African Methodist Episcopal Church New Jersey Angeline Conference, and his father is an entrepreneur. Additionally, he credits Vincent P. Russo, who helped Mr. Rassmann after his church burned down, as a mentor and instrumental support in his financial success.
