LaSaia Wade, MBA, Executive Director at Brave Space Alliance, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in advocacy.
Ms. Wade became involved in her profession out of a desire to serve the transgender community, and committed herself to creating a space for them to excel. Drawing inspiration from the example of her parents, who instilled her with a diligent work ethic, she earned a bachelor’s degree in human resources from Middle Tennessee State University in 2008. Following this accomplishment, Ms. Wade graduated from the aforementioned institution in 2010 with a Master of Business Administration.
Ms. Wade began her career in 2012 in a management position with Asurion, where she worked for a year. Presently, she serves as the founder of the Tennessee Transgender Journey Project and has been the executive director of the Brave Space Alliance since 2016. The latter organization is, notably, the first LGBT community in Southside Chicago that is fully managed by minority transgendered people.
As a testament to her success, Ms. Wade was featured in Time Out Chicago through “8 Women Who Are Making Chicago a Better Place” in 2021. Additionally, she was named among the 20 Most Inspiring Chicagoans in 2021 and among 33 Inspiring Women Who Crushed by Northstar Magazine in 2020. Furthermore, she received the Streetwise Award from Streetwise Magazine in 2020. Ms. Wade has also been inducted as a member of the Chicago Transgender-Nonconforming Collective and the Trans Liberation Collective.
