Michael D. Ivancich, owner and safety and health consultant at MDI Safety and Health Services, LLC, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in safety consulting.

Dr. Ivancich has dedicated more than three decades of his career to consulting, teaching, and promoting industrial and occupational safety. For close to ten years, he has been the owner and primary consultant for MDI Safety and Health Services, LLC, building on an impressive history of prior work with OSHA, Con Edison, and others. Dr. Ivancich began his journey by earning an Associate’s degree in industrial engineering and occupational safety from CUNY College of Staten Island, and continued his education in the City University of New York system with a Bachelor’s degree in economics and industrial management shortly after. By 1990, Dr. Ivancich had completed a Master of Liberal Studies at New York University and earned a Doctor of Philosophy through Columbia Southern University’s distance learning program.

With OSHA-, NSC-, and ASSE- certifications, Dr. Ivancich entered the industrial management field in 1979 as an environmental health and safety projects specialist for Con Edison, a career-defining position where he would excel until his retirement from the company in 2014. Alongside his role at Con Edison, Dr. Ivancich served as director of safety for the New York chapter of the Utility Workers Union of America for much of the 1990s, and worked with Safeway Construction Enterprises. In 1992, Dr. Ivancich became a trainer for OSHA, a position that would lead him to join NextWave Safety Group as Director of Training. After stepping down at Con Edison, Dr. Ivancich spent three years with AsTech Consulting of New Jersey before launching MDI Safety and Health Services, LLC.

Dr. Ivancich credits his success in his field to a genuine interest in helping others and supporting them through challenging times. He was presented with Con Edison’s 2013 Chamber of the Board Award in recognition of his outstanding performance, and proudly remembers his time working with clients with drug and alcohol use disorders at NextWave Safety Group as a career highlight. He is a former member of the National Safety Council and the American Society of Safety Engineers. Dr. Ivancich continues to enjoy helping others, whether through favors to friends and family or through his continued work in the safety industry, and looks forward to continuing to make a difference.
