Corazon G. Barrios, director and owner of the International Educators Group Inc., has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in education consulting.
Renowned for nearly 40 years of experience in independent consulting, Ms. Barrios is gratified to have spent her career assisting in the growth and productivity of others. In this role, she oversees staff development and training, as well as program assessment, design, development, implementation and evaluation. Previously, Ms. Barrios found success as an adjunct professor at the University of Phoenix from 2001 to 2020, the director of education and consulting services and a nurse at Kaiser Permanente West Los Angeles Medical Center for nearly 35 years.
As the holder of a master’s degree from California State University Dominguez Hills, Ms. Barrios has mentored students at the University of Southern California, Azusa Pacific University and the University of Phoenix. Furthermore, she served on the staff of the Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center. Above all, Ms. Barrios is proud to have developed, implemented and evaluated a regional training program in the early days of dialysis in 1974.
Because Ms. Barrios came to the United States as an immigrant, she actively contributes to her local community by volunteering to teach English as a second language at Glendale City College and through her local public library and churches. Supplementing her professional career, she co-authored and submitted an article for publishing, titled “Promoting Quality, Safety and Satisfaction in Acute Dialysis, Defending Traditional Staffing Patterns.” Revered for her military service as well, Ms. Barrios served as a major in the U.S. Army Reserves from 1986 to 2005. For her efforts, she is proud to have been a recipient of the Army Achievement Medal through the 349th Division, Fifth Brigade Nurse Detachment in 2001. Throughout her career, Ms. Barrios has maintained her affiliations with the American Nephrology Nurses Association, the Association of Nursing Professional Development, the Organization of Health Educators, the Philippine Nurses Association of America and the American Association of Critical Care Nurses.
