Mr. Irwin started out thinking he would go into psychology because he was interested in unlocking human personality. Once in college, he realized he was too judgmental for psychology but he wanted to work with people. This led him to working with large corporations. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Wesleyan University in 1956. He then received a Juris Doctorate from the Columbia University School of Law in 1959.
Mr. Irwin is most proud of selling half of the business and personally engineering the tax aspects of it in 1986. He started his career as a lawyer in 1962 for the Internal Revenue Service. Recently he was a vice president and general tax counsel for the ITT Corporation, where he remained until his retirement. Civically, he was the president of Bucks County Symphony Orchestra for six years. Even though he is retired, he will help people when they ask him. He enjoys helping people solve their tax problems if he can. As a testament to his success, Mr. Irwin received a Special Service Award from the Internal Revenue Service.
