Sarah S. Kaylor, income maintenance investigator for the Program Integrity Unit at the Catawba County Department of Social Services, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in social services and hospitality.
For nearly thirty years, Ms. Kaylor celebrated a successful and storied with the Catawba County Department of Social Services. Inspired by espionage as a child, she established herself as an eligibility specialist in 1971 until she was promoted to the role of income maintenance supervisor from 1977 to 1984. Thereafter, from 1984 until her retirement in 2001, she found success as an income maintenance investigator in the program integrity unit, where she was responsible for establishing investigations for suspected over payment cases from public assistance programs such as Food Stamps, Medicaid, and Special Assistance. She initially completed coursework and training at Catawba Valley Community College, North Carolina Justice Academy and the North Carolina Department of Human Resources. Moreover, she received a certificate of completion from the Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute in 1978 at its national career workshops seminar on ‘How to Work with People’ and became a certified welfare fraud investigator in 1989 through the United Council on Welfare Fraud.
Further dedicated to her role as a civic advocate, Ms. Kaylor continued her career as a coordinator for the Low Income Energy Assistance Program, in which she was proud to assist eligible households in paying for their heating bills. Over the course of her career, she has maintained professional affiliations with the North Carolina Social Services Association, the National Eligibility of Workers Association, and the United Council on Welfare Fraud. Furthermore, she has served as the secretary of the North Carolina Region I Fraud Network and president of the North Carolina Region I Fraud Network. For her achievements in the field, she is honored to have been presented a multitude of awards and accolades, including the Employee of the Month Award from the Catawba County Department of Social Services in 1989 and 2001, the Certificate of Nomination in Recognition of Outstanding Performance of Duties While Providing Excellent Customer Service in 1996 and the Recognition Award in Appreciation for 30 Years of Service and Dedication from the Catawba County Government in 2000. A celebrated Marquis listee, Ms. Kaylor has been cited in the 22nd and 23rd editions of Who’s Who of American Women.
