Johnes Ruta, curator, editor, and publisher at AzothGallery.com has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in fine art and information technology.
Mr. Ruta, born 1947, is a writer, programmer, database analyst, and art curator best-known as the founder and head of AzothGallery.com. His interest in fine art and art theory was sparked by his childhood understanding of the Cold War and the constant feeling that the world was never more than 20 minutes away from nuclear war. He began researching and writing at the age of 12, driven to find a deeper understanding of the psychological factors that influenced society and creativity. In 1966, he spent one year throughout Europe in independent cultural research while developing a novel based on the human subconscious of sleep dreams, and on developmental and travel geography.
In 1972, Mr. Ruta left his studies at Southern Connecticut State University to take up an appointment as theater editor and managing editor of the Connecticut arts newspaper The Entertainer for five years. This work would later become AzothGallery.com in 1988 and he has continued to work as an independent art curator for several area venues and numerous art websites. He also earned a certificate in computer programming at the Stone Academy of Business in 1977, and has consulted since then as a database designer and Business Analyst for Fortune 500 companies, such as R.T. Vanderbilt, Louis-Dreyfus, Kodak Polychrome Graphics, and Kaman Aerospace.
In his work in the arts, Ruta has curated exhibitions for venues including Gallery RIVAA, the New Haven Free Public Library, and the York Square Cinema Gallery. Since 2001, he has organized and sponsored six free international forums in New Haven on ancient history, myth, and mathematics. In 2015, his novel, “Fires Eternal Morning” was published by Poets Choice Press. He continues to work as a catalyst for widening awareness of the arts. As part of his support for the larger community, Mr. Ruta is a Trustee of the William Kent Charitable Trust and is Vice President & Tech Support of the William Meredith Foundation.
