Prior to establishing himself with Axon Federal, Ron celebrated a storied and successful career as a Border Patrol agent that rose from the field to Chief of the United States Border Patrol and later as a federal senior executive within the Department of Homeland Security. Ronald was Acting Director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Acting Deputy Commissioner of U.S. Customs and Border Protection before retiring from the federal government in 2019. Since then, he also found additional success as the director of his consulting firm RD Vitiello LLC.

In his current role at Axon Federal, Mr. Vitiello is particularly gratified to use his expertise to fortify the company’s understanding of the Department of Homeland Security in order to better protect his former colleagues in the Department as well as his fellow Americans. In an effort to remain abreast with advancements in the field, he maintains professional affiliations with the Border Patrol Agent Family Network, the International Association of Chiefs of Police and the Lido Civic Club of Washington D.C.

For his achievements throughout his career, he is proud to be a recipient of the Presidential Rank Award from President Donald Trump in 2018, the Public Service Award from the Lido Civic Club of Washington D.C. in 2017 and the Mission Award from the Government Technology and Services Coalition in 2016. Looking to the future, he aims to continue adding capabilities and extending the outreach of his department at Axon Federal.
