George C. Spina, president and CEO of the Global Legal Information Network Foundation, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in trade law and project financing.

Mr. Spina is a well-regarded expert in project financing and international trade law serving as the president and CEO of the Global Legal Information Network Foundation since 2004. He began his career with a Bachelor of Arts from Seton Hall University and earned his Juris Doctor from Georgetown University in 1976 before being recruited to return as executive director of the school’s International Law Institute the following year. While at Georgetown University, Mr. Spina continued his education, completing a Master of Laws at Columbia and an additional Master of Arts through the University of Southern California in 1977. He departed the International Law Institute in 1981 to become president of George C. Spina Associates, where he would remain until 1987, when he purchased Pillsbury & Company Travel Professionals, Inc.

Mr. Spina has co-edited numerous books and journal articles throughout his career, including “Career Opportunities in International Law,” 1977, and “Interface I: Proc. on the Application of U.S. Antidumping and Countervailing Duty Laws to Imports from State-Controlled Economies and State-Owned Enterprises,” 1980. He remains a Senior Fellow of the International Law Institute and is a former partner of the Salisbury Group, past president of the Biographical Archives Corporation, and former chair of Training and Testing Systems, Inc. and the Family Heritage Library. Mr. Spina is a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving from 1970 until 1974 as a member of the Space and Missile Systems Organization. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the American Society of International Law, and the United States Chamber of Commerce, and held executive roles with all three organizations in the early 1980s, a distinction he considers a career highlight. A longtime member of the Memorial-West Presbyterian Church, Mr. Spina has dedicated more than 35 years to serving as president of its board of trustees. In recognition of his distinguished career in law, Mr. Spina has been presented with the prestigious Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award.
