David Buken, auditor at the Ohio Department of Taxation, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in tax services.
Mr. Buken began his career after obtaining a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Cincinnati in 1969. As a certified public accountant, he found success within the Ohio Department of Taxation for nearly 45 years until his retirement in 2011. Because of his expertise in the field, Mr. Buken is fortunate to have been hired on the spot by his best friend’s father in 1969. During this time, he later returned to the University of Cincinnati to graduate with a master’s degree in taxation in 1985.
Over the course of his career, Mr. Buken has maintained professional affiliations with the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants, of which he is recognized as a lifetime member. Additionally, he has contributed as the treasurer for the Masonic Relief Association, the dean of Loveland Castle and the treasurer for the Sims Township Historical Society and Masonic Lodge #419. Moreover, Mr. Buken is currently recognized as the treasurer emeritus for a school catering to those with dyslexia.
Mr. Buken is most proud to have operated and maintained the historic Loveland Castle, which also houses a museum that pays homage to medieval knights. As a catholic seminarian for nearly a decade, he attributes his success to his education. Since his retirement, he enjoys hiking and attending college football games. Additionally, he currently serves as a security officer and has performed as a circus clown with Shrine Circus for nearly 40 years. Looking toward the future, Mr. Buken aims to continue working to help people and provide assistance to those in his community.
