Harry F. Shank III, Chief of the Workforce Development Division of the National Guard Bureau Acquisition Directorate, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in government.
Responsible for providing training and career management to over 800 members of the U.S. National Guard contracting workforce, Mr. Shank has dedicated his career to service with the federal government. He initially obtained a Bachelor of Science in business administration before earning a Master of Arts in industrial and labor relations from West Virginia University in 1990. After graduating, he was recruited to work With the U.S. Air Force at Andrews Air Force Base in order to contribute his expertise to the Air Force District of Washington. Thereafter, he facilitated the Procurement management Review Program as part of the U.S. National Guard. Located in Alexandria, the National Guard Bureau is responsible for the administration of the U.S. National Guard and was established by the U.S. Congress.
Mr. Shank attributes his success to his mentors who always taught him how to complete tasks the correct way. Over the course of his career, he has maintained professional affiliations with the National Contract Management Association and the National Eagle Scout Association. For his service as well as significant contributions within the field, he is honored to have been presented with numerous Performance Awards. Looking toward the future, he aims to continue his career in the private sector following his retirement from the federal government.
