Peggy Jamison, Grant Resource Director with the Garrett County Government and Circuit Rider at the Garrett County Community Action Committee Inc., has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in public service.
With decades of experience in public service to her credit, Ms. Jamison currently applies her expertise as a circuit rider with the Garrett County Community Action Committee, a post she has held since 2015. She has served for 30 years as the grant resource director for the Garrett County Government, and in this role, she writes grants and enjoys working with staff and government officials. From 2010 to 2020, Ms. Jamison was the Mayor of the Town of Oakland, and for 18 years, she served on the town council of the Town of Oakland. In addition to these posts, she is a member of the board of directors for the Garrett Regional Medical Center.
A graduate of Chatham University with a Bachelor of Business Administration, Ms. Jamison also holds a computer application certification. She boasts experience in planning, zoning, economic development and grant management. She has been recognized for her exemplary work with several awards, including one from a former mayor, and a distinguished alumni award from Chatham University, which she received in 2016. In addition to her primary roles, Ms. Jamison has served on the board of directors for the Greater Oakland Business Association and the Oakland Heritage Community Foundation. She has also been affiliated with the Oakland B&O Museum Committee and the Oakland Business Association. Ms. Jamison would like to be remembered as someone who worked hard to overcome any obstacle in her way.
