Mr. Traore is a financial management expert with more than 25 years of distinction in his field. He holds a certificate of completion in financial systems and economic development from the doctoral program of the Institute for the Study of Economic and Social Development at the Sorbonne and continued his studies at the Institut Supérieur de Gestion, earning a Master of Business Administration. In 1989, Mr. Traore was awarded a Master of Science in Accounting from the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.

He began his career consulting for several international development agencies and human services projects, working with USAID in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, from 1994 until 1995, and both the Children’s Learning and Equity Foundation Project and the Chad Child Survival Project through 1995. Mr. Traore accepted a position as a financial management and education economist for the TMG/CLEF Project that year, where he would remain until joining the African Development Bank in 2000. Beginning as a financial analyst in the Industry & Infrastructure Division, Mr. Traore moved into the Private Sector Microfinance Department in 2001, where he was single-handedly responsible for the development of the bank’s portfolio management department. He was named Chief Portfolio Management Officer in 2008, rising to become Officer in Charge and Division Manager of the Private Sector Department of the African Development Bank in 2016.

Currently, Mr. Traore is focused on his work as an independent financial manager and the owner of SEC TRAORE SARL. He is proud to be the first business owner in his family and has found it a profoundly rewarding extension of his previous experience in banking. He attributes his success to dedication to growth and professional excellence and a drive for success and hopes to become a Certified Public Accountant within the next five years. In the long term, Mr. Traore looks forward to returning his focus to community development and using his experience in the financial sector to help others. In his free time, Mr. Traore enjoys playing tennis and watching sports and is an avid FC Barcelona fan.
