Laurene R. Zenoniani, Accounting Specialist at the Albion Housing Commission, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in bookkeeping.
Ms. Zenoniani has found more than three decades of success as an accounting specialist and bookkeeper for companies throughout Michigan. She attended Albion College, where she was active in the Beta Beta Beta honors society, initially majoring in biology. Ms. Zenoniani quickly found that laboratory work was not her strength and changed her major to economics, earning a Bachelor of Arts in 1981. Her accounting career began with Simoni Associates, where she served as an accounting clerk for Uncle Ed’s Oil Shoppe chain from 1989 until 1991. Ms. Zenoniani spent the next three years as a computer accounting clerk for CCR & Company, where her work focused on helping the company digitize its accounting system and records. In 1994, Ms. Zenoniani accepted a position with Industrial Finishing Albion working as the company’s accountant and office manager. During her time with Industrial Finishing Albion, she was responsible for all of the company’s record-keeping and established a new, streamlined accounting system.
Ms. Zenoniani joined the Albion Housing Commission in 1997 as an accounting and payroll specialist, a diverse position where she is responsible for supervising and assisting with a broad range of projects. She is a Certified Occupancy Specialist and calculates rents and federal housing subsidies in addition to her primary focus on internal accounting and record-keeping matters. While Ms. Zenoniani retired from full-time work in 2019, she remains with the Albion Housing Commission on a part-time basis. She is a member and past Vice President of Education of the Institute of Management Accountants, and is active in her community, volunteering at the Albion Civic Foundation and Volunteer Center, the Oaklawn Hospital, and as a member of her church’s Finance Council. Ms. Zenoniani credits her success to hard work, determination, and a willingness to get help when needed, and is proud to have spent her career helping others and solving problems for organizations. When she is not working, Ms. Zenoniani enjoys cycling, taking walks, and time spent with family.
