Elaine M. Slywczuk, Payroll/Personnel Specialist at Cleveland Metropolitan School District, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in finance and administration.

Ms. Slywczuk has worked with the Cleveland Metropolitan School District since 1975, mastering a variety of administrative and management roles. A star student, she was listed in the 1973 edition of Who’s Who Among American High School Students and completed a student internship program before starting coursework in speech and hearing therapy at Cleveland State University. She was mentored by her high school principal. Ms. Slywczuk began working for the district in order to save money to continue her studies, but found herself so passionate about the work that she chose to stay in her role. After more than three decades in a payroll auditing position, helping the district transition from paper record-keeping to digital methods of calculation, Ms. Slywczuk moved into a maintenance administration management role.

An expert in staffing, payroll systems, and union agreements, Ms. Slywczuk’s work includes systems maintenance, employee training and resolving staffing problems, and creating guidelines for payroll and personnel management. She considers her career to be “the whole package,” citing her pride in her multiple promotions and her continued love for the work, the district, and her team. She attributes her success to hard work, attention to detail, and willingness to try new approaches, and hopes to transition from full-time work into private consulting within the next five years. When not working, Ms. Slywczuk is active in the Ukrainian Catholic Church, enjoys mentoring students, and is a supporter of St. Augustine’s Hunger Center. She wants to be remembered as a person who always got the job done.
