Matthew G. Quinn, owner and president of Greenmont Healthcare Products, LLC, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in accessibility products.
Mr. Quinn’s 55-year career in the medical industry began at the age of 15 while working at a Catholic hospital delivering doses of medication from the hospital pharmacy to patient wards after they were ordered by physicians. A curious and busy student who dreamed of playing professional sports, Mr. Quinn had never considered studying pharmacy until a nun working at the hospital suggested that he consider it as a “backup plan” to his potential sports career. He was admitted to the University of Connecticut School of Pharmacy despite having average grades based on his work ethic and drive to help others and was named Most Improved Student upon his graduation in 1966 with a Bachelor of Science degree. Mr. Quinn has spent much of his career as both a business leader and a pharmacist, starting in 1971 as the President of Manchester Drug & Surgical Supply, Inc., a role he held through 1992.
From 1996 until 2016, Mr. Quinn was a pharmacist with Suburban Pharmacy Long Term Care, Inc., and concurrently worked as a consultant and distributor for Nikken International products between 1999 and 2013. Since 2011, he has been the owner and President of Greenmont Healthcare Products, LLC, a wholesale distributor of surgical, ostomy care, and durable medical products. Mr. Quinn is the inventor of the EasyPushbar, a patented wheelchair push bar designed to help caregivers and medical staff maneuver wheelchairs reliably and comfortably using only one hand. He continues to work up to 80 hours a week creating new ways to help patients, customers, and medical professionals and treasures his hardworking staff, whom he considers to be the heart of his business. Mr. Quinn credits his success to optimism, patience, and tenacity, and advises others to look for the lesson hidden in every difficult situation and to commit to their goals, even if they seem out of reach. When not working, Mr. Quinn enjoys spending time with his five children, ten grandchildren, and one great-grandchild, and is active in community volunteer projects.
