Andrea Jemison-Smith, Senior Manager of Fastening Systems at Stellantis, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in engineering.
Ms. Jemison-Smith’s interest in engineering began after the results of a high school aptitude test deemed her well suited for a career geared toward mathematics and science. She later received a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Tennessee State University and since 2014, she has excelled as a senior manager of fastening systems at Stellantis. In her role, Ms. Jemison-Smith is responsible for setting torque integrity standards and procedures for the fastening systems in all the company’s North American plants. She is also in charge of launching vehicles and is involved in preparing procedures for the global release of their product.
Finding great success in her profession, Ms. Jemison-Smith has received recognition from the Women of Color STEM Conference, among other accolades throughout her career. She attributes her success to her parents’ strong work ethic, as they raised her to go after what drives her and makes her happy. Outside of her primary endeavors, Ms. Jemison-Smith holds a Six Sigma Black Belt certification, is a deacon in her church, and a fundraiser and volunteer for Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. She also dedicates time to the STEM program at Detroit High School and donates to United Way Worldwide. In five years’ time, Ms. Jemison-Smith aims to start her own business involving procedural writing, accreditation, and ISO standards while continuing to support her three children. She is also looking into the testing and procedural writing for cannabis products.
