Troy Cailler, Fire Chief at the Sabattus Fire Department, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in firefighting and emergency services.
Some of Mr. Cailler’s earliest memories are of visiting his father, a firefighter, at his fire station. His father’s passion for his career and dedication to community service made a lasting impression, Mr. Cailler decided to follow in his footsteps. After earning an Associate of Arts degree, he joined his area fire service in 2008 as a junior firefighter. Mr. Cailler has worked with the Fire Department of the City of Lewiston since 2013, and in 2020, he was named Chief of the Sabattus Fire Department.
As Fire Chief, Mr. Cailler is responsible not only for providing emergency services to the community but for managing the administrative and personnel needs that keep the department running. He is a graduate of the National Fire Academy’s National Managing Officer Program, a member of the Tri-County Training Association and is an expert in staff development and education. Among Mr. Cailler’s greatest professional accomplishments was securing more than $500,000 in civic funding for a new fire truck in just two days, and he hopes to continue building and supporting the department for years to come. Mr. Cailler has contributed to numerous local media outlets and is a well-regarded presence in the area, winning a 2014 Fire Instructor of the Year award and earning an additional nomination for a Joel Barnes Community Service Award. When he is not working, Mr. Cailler enjoys time spent with family and is an avid downhill skier.
